"R has been with the Cocoon family since the age of two and a half and he will be starting school this September. It has been such a wonderful and nurturing environment for him. Katia and Danitza really do feel like another branch of family for R, which is why he always looks forward to being with them. He is one of the oldest in group and over time, he has developed a real sense of achievement from helping and encouraging the younger children with every day tasks such as putting on shoes or snack time. We know such care and attention to these details has stemmed from his time at Cocoon and has been modelled by Katia and Danitza. It’s so important that children of different ages can all be together to learn from each other. Another positive aspect of the Cocoon environment is the very individualised approach to facilitating the children's learning. Rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach, they have observed R carefully to understand when the time is right for learning a particular new skill. Nothing ever feels forced or rigid - everything follows the rhythm of the child. Knowing that R will start school in a few months, they have been preparing him for school life and he is really excited. We can see that Katia and Danitza are truly passionate about their Montessori work with children and are always learning and finding new ways to do things. As parents, we have complete faith in them and have never worried about R when he is with them. Hopefully when R’s baby sister is a bit bigger she will join the Cocoon family too"
